Students express love to Mohammed Bin Rashid

DUBAI: Hundreds of students from 19 Dubai schools took centre stage and performed a number of plays, songs, dances and tableaus to express their affection for His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, under the theme “Love You In All Languages around the World”

The event was held at Zabeel Park on Feb.14 and organised by Rashid Centre for the Disabled under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation, Chairman, Emirates Airlines and Chairman, Rashid Centre, in cooperation with the Art of Living Foundation. The event was also attended by officials from the UAE Red Crescent Authority, Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Managing Director of the Rashid Centre, Maryam Othman, Director General of the centre, a large number of government officials, ambassadors and consuls and members of the diplomatic corps and representatives and others.
As part of the activities, hundreds of schoolchildren presented songs and dances on national songs forming a huge heart. Besides traditional dances, many schoolchildren performed in their traditional dresses to express the harmony, love and peace while residing in the country under the wise leadership.
In his speech during the ceremony, Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum said, “Today we meet here to express our love to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who has spared no effort in planting happiness and ensuring the comfort of his citizens. He will always be keen to deepen the value of happiness among us, and make it a way of life permanently in our beloved country.”
He added, “His Highness has succeeded in his vision as evidenced by the recent formation of the ministry, which included for the first time in history, a minister of happiness, and the last of tolerance.
“His Highness cares to introduce values in the society in the UAE by upholding our heritage, customs and traditions.”
Maryam Othman, Director General of Rashid Centre, thanked all the schools which participated in stage activities and others who were present to be part of the event to thank his Highness for his efforts for the country and communities residing in the country.At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, accompanied by Maryam Othman, honoured ambassadors and consuls, and representatives of local chambers, and sponsors of the concert and partners of Rashid Centre. The song “Home of Peace” was performed in recognition of their contribution to the success of the event.
